Explore the world, on a plate, with us as we dig into our favorite hotel breakfasts. Our Majestic Hospitality team recognizes that the F&B is just as important as the place you rest your head. These eight destinations prove just that.
- El Dorado Hotel, Santa Fe, New Mexico:
Our CFO, Terry, loves the hearty and Authentic Southwestern foods found at the El Dorado Hotel in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Breakfast at Tia Sofia’s a couple doors down on the plaza is a must, too. Insider tip: order your food “Christmas Style” with red and green Hatch Chili sauces to get the full Santa Fe experience.
- 10 Karakoy, Istanbul, Turkey
In Istanbul, you’ll find our Development Advisor, Laird, staying at 10 Karakoy, centrally located near many local coffee houses, including Kronotrop, not far from the funicular railway. Just across the golden horn is the old city and all the street life. It’s a foodie paradise for the true seekers.
- JW Marriott, Phuket, Thailand
When he’s not on a 12-day camping tour of the country, Managing Director, Andrew Cohan finds sanctuary and a full stomach at the JW Marriott Phuket. Choose any style breakfast buffet from Chinese, to Japanese, Thai, European and American classics. Fair warning though, a post-breakfast nap is required.
- The Peninsula, Hong Kong
Our CEO, Chris Henry, likes to choose from one of The Peninsula’s many dining options. From famed pastries and craft coffees at the Peninsula Boutique and Cafe to 360º harbor views and sophisticated fare at Felix, the Peninsula is sure to impress and satisfy every craving.
- Hotel Valley Ho, Scottsdale, Arizona
Meanwhile in Scottsdale, Regina prefers her breakfast poolside at Hotel Valley Ho. She knows a vibe when she sees one, since she stays busy creating them herself as a graphic designer. The vibes are high with a relaxing day full of grazing, sunshine, and refreshing dips in the pool.
- Hotel Del Coronado, San Diego, California
Scott is our Market Research wiz, but it doesn’t take a ton of research to recognize the legend that is Hotel del Coronado. The ultimate San Diego beachfront destination boasts more than ten different dining options. From luxurious sea-to-table dining to casual beach shack eats, the Hotel Del offers an unforgettable coastal experience.
- Quinta da Salada Inn, Peso da Regua, Portugal
Situated in a working vineyard of Peso da Regua, Portugal, is the Quinta da Salada Inn. This hotel is part of a large estate and vineyard located in the Douro Valley wine region, one of the largest and oldest wine regions in the world. Land Planning Advisor, Rick loves their farm to table, communal style breakfast. He and his wife stayed there as part of an amazing multi day self-guided bike tour of the Douro Valley Wine Region.
- Matana Beach Resort, Fiji
Finally, our Cultural and Environmental Advisor, Dr. Patrick “Paddy” Ryan gets his fruit fix at the Matana Beach Resort on Kadavu Island in Fiji. Fresh papaya, pineapple, and island lychees or “Pometia pinnata” are all sourced from less than 50 yards away. There’s nothing sweeter than a freshly picked fruit plate and omelet from the shade of the veranda–and Matana Beach Resort is living proof.
