Majestic Hospitality Group has named Lisette Acosta Álvarez Director, Latin America & the Caribbean. The appointment also comes with a second piece of news. Through a new affiliate partnership with LaCosta Advisors, the hotel investment advisory firm Lisette founded, Majestic now has an office in Costa Rica. It’s the firm’s second office outside the United States, joining Firenze, Italy.
In this role, Lisette will lead Majestic’s continued expansion across Latin America and the Caribbean. She will also manage the firm’s existing business interests and relationships in the region. She succeeds Andrew Cohan, Managing Director, Miami, who is retiring. Hotel Management covered the news in its story, Majestic Hospitality appoints director to lead LATAM growth.
Meet Lisette Acosta Álvarez
Lisette comes to Majestic from LaCosta Advisors, where she served as founder and managing director. Her team works with investors, owners, and developers to find opportunities, set strategy, and move real estate and hospitality projects forward. They pair an international perspective with the kind of local market intelligence that’s hard to gather from a distance. Like Majestic, Lisette is a member of ISHC, the International Society of Hospitality Consultants.
Christopher Henry, Majestic’s Co-Founder and CEO, described her this way: “Lisette is a strategist with an investor’s lens and a developer’s patience.”
In addition, he pointed to her track record. “She led the investment attraction strategy for one of Latin America’s leading ecotourism and luxury destinations,” Chris said. She did that work at an agency ranked number one in the world for six years running.

A “more for less” view of luxury hospitality
Chris describes Lisette’s idea of luxury as “more for less.” In other words, guests get more meaning, more experience, and more quality. That view fits the work Majestic already does. Most of the firm’s engagements lean experiential, luxury, or eco-conscious, and plenty lean into all three. After all, a guest at a resort in Guanacaste or on Grand Cayman is paying for a sense of place. Lisette’s perspective helps owners plan for that from the feasibility stage forward.
Building on Majestic’s work in Latin America and the Caribbean
Majestic’s portfolio in the region already includes The Andaz Resort in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, and the Grand Hyatt in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. Now, with Lisette leading from Costa Rica, owners, developers, and investors across the region have a Majestic director in their own market and time zone.
The team also thanks Andrew Cohan for the relationships he built and the clients he served, and wishes him a happy retirement. Lisette steps into those relationships with a clear goal from Chris: “We know that Lisette will successfully help us reach our growth goals throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.”
